CX-193 is formulated to improve the lubricating properties of engine oil typically used by oil and gas drilling contractors to lubricate the chains of draw works.

CX-193 adds anti-wear and extreme pressure, anticorrosion, and antioxidant properties to the oil.

Suspended molybdenum disulfide provides a solid film lubricant to form a barrier between the sliding and rolling surfaces of the pins, rollers, and link plates. This barrier reduces friction and wear.

A corrosion inhibitor protects the metal surfaces against rust and salt corrosion.

Other additives help to maintain the oil's specified viscosity and thus the oil's capability to form the film of oil that separates the two surfaces of metal.

The diluent (carrier oil) is SAE 20 weight non-detergent oil.

CX-193 is packaged in a standard 5 gallon pail. For best results, for each 55 gallon barrel of engine oil, replace 5 gallons of oil with 5 gallons of CX-193. However, because CX-193 is premixed in the SAE 20 weight oil, it may be added directly to the reservoir without premixing. A little more or less is acceptable; that is to say, if the reservoir already contains 55 gallons of oil, add 5 gallons of CX-193; the resultant blend, although diluted, still fortifies the oil.
