Powerlube Wire Rope Lubricator

Use of the Powerlube "automates" lubrication of wire rope:
  1. Elininates prolonged, arduous, expensive manual labor.
  2. Forces lubricant (TS-210) into the rope, filling voids and penetrating to the core.
The Powerlube system consists of three components:
  1. An air source
  2. Grease pump with drum cover & follower plate.
  3. Powerlube, with insert & guide plates.
Two models:
  1. Model 10-008, 26lbs, for rope size from ¼" to 2".*
  2. Model 10-009, 86lbs, for rope size from 1¾" to 4".*
* Each wire rope size requires a separate set of inserts and guide plates.
Observe guide plates in picture above.
Observe insert in the picture below.

The Powerlube uses the air pressure exerted by the grease pump to force lubricant to the core of the wire ropes. (A 50:1 pump used with 100 psi provides 5000 lbs. of pressure upon leaving the pump.)

The Powerlube is hinged in the middle for installation anywhere along the length of cable. Although the easier method is to pull the wire rope through the Powerlube, lubrication can be accomplished by pulling it along the wire rope.

The Powerlube has been used by the:

  • Mining industry
  • Power plants
  • Ports
  • The U.S. Navy, as well as other ships and tugs
  • The drilling and workover industries
  • Construction and erection cranes
  • Offshore cranes on production platforms
